Prof. Oliver Yu is the president and CEO of the STARS Group, the executive in residence, San Jose State University, and the director emeritus, Energy & Technology Strategies, SRI (Stanford Research Institute) International. He holds a BSEE from National Taiwan University, an MSEE from Georgia Tech, and an MS in statistics and a PhD in Operations Research from Stanford University. He has published over 80 professional papers and authored and co-authored 6 technical books which mainly focus on the technology innovation management.

This presentation will provide an overview of both the conceptual framework and selected practical applications of Total System Innovation Management. It emphasizes both a total system perspective of the innovation management process and a rigorous, disciplined systematic approach to the development of the individual key elements of the process. These key elements include Creative Idea Generation and Core Team Formation, Seeking and Providing Initial Support, Organization Expansion, Product or Service Development and Marketing, External Competition and Cooperation, Societal and Ethical Considerations, and Continuous Feedbacks and Refinements.
