內(nèi)容介紹:
Air quality could adversely affect people's physical health and responsiveness, leading to lower individual productivity and abnormal behaviors, especially those who have been exposed to serious pollution constantly. However, the casual effect of haze on outdoor human behaviors has not been identified in the literatures. This paper examines the impacts of air quality on of players’ productivity and aggressive behaviors using the Chinese Football Association Super League (CFASL) data 2014-2016. Results show a 1% increase in the Ambient Air Quality Index (AQI), PM2.5 concentration and the PM10.0 concentration would result in 0.0225% [95% confidence interval (CI):0.0078%,0.0372%], 0.0183% [CI 95%:0.0082%,0.0284%] and 0.0149% [CI 95%:0.0034%,0.0264%] reductions in terms of players’ passes number, which representing labor productivity. Results also show that air quality significantly increases the number of fouls committed by players, which indicates that haze contributes to inducing peoples’ aggressive behaviors. Specifically, a 1% increase in the concentration of PM2.5 increases 0.041 [CI 95%: 0.040, 0.042] in the number of fouls, and a 1% increase in the concentration of PM10.0 results in a 0.015 [CI 95%:0.014, 0.016] increase in the number of fouls. This study proposed some scientific evidence on the necessary of improving air quality.
